Delivery Manager – Strategic Projects & New Markets

Daniel Bernardes

I joined PayTech in July last year to lead the landmark PATH Programme. Previously I had been working in different Project/Programme management roles in tech consultancy (such as IBM and Hitachi), mostly focused in financial institutions but also retail and engineering. I was very excited to join given the strategic opportunities and growth potential the PATH Programme but also of PayTech as a whole.


In my personal time, I’m a massive fan of live concerts, gaming and manga. However, these have been slowly but surely replaced by spending time with my 1 year old son (until he’s old enough to join me in live concerts and gaming). You may also find me on a weekend playing korfball in the local London league. 

 

Career path and Current Role

After I joined, I was fully dedicated to the PATH Programme, leading a wide team of dedicated and shared resources to achieve our goals of expansion into the massive market of Brazil Benefits, whilst onboarding a new scheme to the PayTech portfolio and trailblazing the way for our AWS Cloud strategic initiative.


My role has now expanded to be responsible for Strategic Projects & New Markets under the new Market Success organisation, leading a team of fantastic PMs and BAs to explore more transformational and expansion opportunities to a level of success similar or even greater than Brazil PATH.

The number of opportunities of such a fast paced environment together with our growth potential, allied to the great number of talented individuals we have across our teams that makes us stand out and excel in complex project delivery in the most challenging circumstances.

Best memory at Edenred

Many happy memories but I think the one that, so far, trumps them all was when we saw the first successful end to end transaction flow through our new and shiny Cloud infrastructure making its way from the new scheme ELO, to PayTech, going back to Brazil for approval, before making the whole way back to ELO. All in less than 2 seconds!

Favourite book

The whole Vagabond manga series, written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue, is absolutely riveting for the impressive quality of its design but especially for the compelling journey of personal growth experienced by the main character throughout the many arks in the story.
